Razzy Peach Chill

Day 75

Razzy Peach Chill
4 shots out of 5

Felt like pulling out the blender again and having another blended cocktail.  Since I only have my 4 purees so far, I thought I'd try to blend a couple of them together and make a new flavor.  I call it Razzy Peach Chill!

I gave tonight's cocktail 4 shots out of 5.  It's a pretty good one.  Raspberry and Peach are a pretty good match and I'm enjoying drinking this cocktail.    I like raspberry flavor in my cocktails in general, so I figured adding raspberry and peach might be good.  (Side note: Raspberry margaritas are the flavor that I usually order because it  cuts out that tequila taste quite well.)  I do need to get some more flavors of purees though so that I can experiment more.  I know they have a strawberry one......but I'm hoping they have some different flavors out there that I haven't seen yet.

Here is the recipe for the Razzy Peach Chill:

  • 1 1/2 shots rum
  • 1 1/2 shot peach puree
  • 1/2 shot raspberry puree
  • 1/2 shot peach schnapps
  • 1/2 shot sweet & sour mix
In a blender add a cup of ice, rum, peach puree, raspberry puree, peach schnapps and sweet & sour mix.  Blend up your ingredients until all of the ice is gone, you don't want your cocktail crunchy!

Cheers to the word Razzy!  I just really like that word and felt like incorporating it in the name of tonight's cocktail!!

Cheers!!

Peach Freeze Cocktail

Day 60

Peach Freeze
3.5 shots out of 5

Was feeling creative today and it seems that my peach puree has been neglected lately, so I thought I'd try my hardest to make something with it today.  I have to say that this peach puree is a hard one to work with for me.  It doesn't have as strong of a flavor as some of those other purees, so I feel like I should be adding a LOT of shots of it to my recipes.......which doesn't work when you have one cocktail glass to fit it in.

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.  I wasn't terribly happy that it didn't have a bigger peach taste, but it is what it is.  I figured adding the peach schnapps would help, and it defiantly did.  The cocktail over all isn't horrible (which might be the way it sounds?), it has a good flavor and I am happy drinking it.  I will still try to figure out a way (which maybe adding actual peaches themselves would work) to make a frozen cocktail taste more peachy, but for now, this one will do.

Here is the recipe for a Peach Freeze:

  • 1 1/2 shots rum
  • 1 1/2 shot peach puree
  • 1/2 shot peach schnapps
  • 1/2 shot sweet & sour mix
In a blender add a cup of ice, rum, peach puree, peach schnapps and sweet & sour mix.  Blend it up until the ice is completely gone.  Pour and enjoy!

Here's to finding a more peachy frozen cocktail in the future.  And a BIG cheers to my 60th day of my Year Of Cocktails Blog!!  I'm enjoying this a whole lot!  I feel a lot more experienced in the world of cocktails now then I did when I started this blog!

Cheers!

Alien Urine Sample Drink

Day 44

Alien Urine Sample
5 shots out of 5

I am really enjoying this Alien Urine Sample!  Yes I said it, it's really good!!!  My bartenders book has some mighty interesting named cocktails, but boy are some of them really good!  This is a very very yummy cocktail that I will definitely be making again.  OK, is it too soon to make another one now?

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.  This is a very refreshing cocktail and one that's fun to drink.  Alien Urine Sample has a good mix of a few different liqueurs that makes this cocktail super yummy.  The color of it can be a little intimidating (another neon colored cocktail like the Liquid Marijuana I made not too long ago), but boy is it good!!  If you have been enjoying the same cocktails that I have been so far, you'll definitely need to try this one!!

Here are the ingredients for Alien Urine Sample:

  • 1/2 shot coconut rum
  • 1/2 shot melon liqueur
  • 1/2 shot banana liqueur
  • 1/2 peach schnapps
  • 2 shots sweet & sour juice
  • soda water
  • 1/2 shot blue curaçao
In a shaker fill with ice and add coconut rum, melon liqueur, banana liqueur, peach schnapps and sweet & sour mix.  Shake it up really good to mix everything together.  Pour everything into a tall glass, add a splash of soda water and blue curaçao.  Enjoy!!!!

Cheers to Alien Urine Samples!!  This is the only kind of urine sample I believe I will ever try!!

Royal Flush Cocktail

Day 40

Royal Flush
2.5 shots out of 5

Who's up for a poker night?  Knowing I was going to make this cocktail tonight has made me in the mood for a poker night all day long!  Put the kids to bed, have some friends over and play some poker, accompanied by some yummy cocktails of course!

Until I took the photo of the ingredients tonight, I had thought that tonight's cocktail was named because of the "Crown Royal" in it. Not until I looked through my lens to take that shot, did I realize that both the Crown Royal and the Chambord are alcohol royalty.  If you notice on the Chambord bottle there's a little crown on it, so that makes them both royalty in my book.

I gave tonight's cocktail 2.5 shots out of 5.  I didn't hate it, but I'm not a big fan of whiskey.  Since this cocktail had a mixture of a couple different fruity sweet mixes in it, I was able to get past the whiskey and kind of enjoy the cocktail.  I have to be honest, when I started making this cocktail and saw that there was a shot and a half of the Crown Royal it made me nervous, but honestly the rest of the ingredients off-set it enough (not entirely, but enough to not make you make faces) to allow me to drink it.

Here is the recipe for a Royal Flush:

  • 1 1/2 shots Crown Royal
  • 1 shot peach schnapps
  • 1/2 shot Chambord
  • 1 shot cranberry juice
In a highball glass, fill it 3/4 to the top with ice.  Add your Crown Royal, peach schnapps, Chambord and cranberry juice.  Stir up your cocktail really really well and enjoy.

Georgia Peach Cocktail

Day 34

Georgia Peach
5 shots out of 5

I did it!!  OK, so what did I do?  Well I found the recipe for a Georgia Peach in my bartenders book as well as tons of different ones online.  In all of the confusion, I tried the one in my bartenders book......thought it was ok, and amended it just a little.  My product, something that actually does taste like a peach AND it's yummy!!!!

This cocktail makes me want it to be summer already!  What a refreshing cocktail!  If ever you're in the mood for a cocktail, but don't want it to be too alcoholy or have that vodkaey taste to it, reach for a Georgia Peach!  I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5 because it's light, refreshing and it has that "Oh Yea, I forgot how yummy peaches are" taste to it!

Here is the recipe for the Georgia Peach:

  • 1 shot peach schnapps
  • 1 1/2 shots cranberry juice
  • 1/2 shot orange juice

Fill a highball glass 3/4 the way to the top with ice.  Add the peach schnaps, cranberry juice and orange juice.  Stir up your cocktail, sit back and enjoy!!

Silk Panties AKA Woo Woo Cocktail

Day 21

Silk Panties AKA Woo Woo
2 out of 5

Here we are at the end of week 3.  I've learned a few things in these last 3 weeks.

  1. Gin isn't as bad as I thought
  2. The color of sweet vermouth scared me more then the taste of it
  3. Grapefruit juice in cocktails is pretty darn good....especially in a Sea Breeze
  4. I am no longer a vodka cran or rum & coke girl
  5. blue caraçuo doesn't make "every" cocktail taste good, such as the Into The Blue
  6. cream of coconut IS quite tasty
  7. I enjoy blended cocktails A LOT
  8. I am enjoying this blog more then I thought I would!
That being said, lets get onto tonight's cocktail.  I gave tonight's cocktail 2 shots out of 5 because although it's a sweet drink......it's a bit much.  I mixed this cocktail up, strained it into it's glass and smelled it before I tasted it.  The smell was great!!  I couldn't wait to try it.......then I did......not a whole lot of flavor.  All I'm left with is thick saliva.  Thrillsville.

The more sips I take, the less I like tonight's cocktail.  I think I would have put less peach schnapps in and more cranberry juice.  That would have at least made it less sweet.  OK, this last sip is now making my mouth feel/taste like I just took a dose of cough medicine.  OK, yuck!!

Here is the recipe for Silk Panties AKA Woo Woo:

  • 3/4 shot vodka
  • 3/4 shot peach schnapps
  • 1 shot cranberry juice
Put ice into your shaker.  Add the vodka, peach schnapps and cranberry juice.  Stir your mixture up really well.  Strain your cocktail into a chilled cocktail glass.

Here is a photo of the end result:

(My cocktail looked a little lighter then its coming out in my photo, but maybe it has something to do with the glass being frosted in the photo and not now?)

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Well peach schnapps, next time we meet.......I hope it's under better circumstances!!

Fuzzy Navel Cocktail

Day 18

Fuzzy Navel
4 shots out of 5

Tonight's cocktail is the Fuzzy Navel.  Let me tell you, when I was looking through my cocktail books and online for the recipe for the Fuzzy Navel......boy did I find some other "interesting" names for similar cocktails!  I went with the original name: Fuzzy Navel.

I either haven't ever had a Fuzzy Navel, or it's been sooo long since I've had one that I honestly didn't remember what was in it.  WOW if this isn't yet another easy cocktail to make, and a yummy one at that!!  I really enjoyed this cocktail, as did the group of friends we had over.  One of our friends liked the Fuzzy Navel so much that he wanted to learn how to make it himself.  My husband also enjoyed it and made himself 2 of them as well, so needless to say tonight's drink was a hit!

On a side note, ever since I had made the Sea Breeze one of my good friends had been dying to try it, so I made a couple of them for the ladies and they enjoyed them so much that one of them asked for another!  My good friend who had requested the Sea Breeze had told me that I have shown her the light and that she will no longer be just a vodka cran girl either (like me)!  I was happy to hear that because through this challenge I have made and enjoyed so many yummy cocktails that I would hate to have any of you (especially one of my friends) still settle for just a vodka cran.  All in all it was a great cocktail night with some great friends.

Here is the recipe for a Fuzzy Navel:

  • 1 shot vodka
  • 1 shot peach schnapps
  • orange juice

This is an easy cocktail to make.  Fill your glass (I used the Bud Vase I had purchased a couple weeks ago) almost to the top with ice.  Pour in your vodka and peach schnapps.  Fill the rest of the glass with orange juice and stir it all together.  Enjoy this refreshingly yummy cocktail!

This is definitely a cocktail to make at your next party!

Sex On The Beach

Day 2

SEX ON THE BEACH
(4 stars out of 5)

It's day 2 and I reinvented an old favorite of mine which I had actually completely forgotten about until tonight. The cocktail: Sex On The Beach!!  I had really forgotten how much I used to enjoy this cocktail.  It's super easy to make and YES it has more then 2 ingredients, go figure huh?  Up until a couple nights ago when I started this blog, I can't remember the last time I had an actual cocktail instead of a beer.  I have to say that I am very glad I took on this 365 day challenge, because I am really enjoying these mixed drinks.  Don't get me wrong, I sure do enjoy a nice cold beer......especially with baseball season right around the corner, but I have to admit that I am thoroughly getting a kick out of making these cocktails.

Tonight's drink I gave 4 stars out of 5.  I absolutely enjoyed this drink, but there's something about Husbands Hurricane that I like a little bit more.  Both drinks I would absolutely order at a bar hands down......just....not at the same time, don't want to give off the wrong impression.

Here are the ingredients to make a Sex On The Beach:

  • 1 shot of Vodka
  • 1 shot of Peach Schnapps
  • 2 shots of Cranberry Juice
  • 2 shots of Orange Juice
  • 2 shots of Pineapple Juice
  • 6 ice cubes (yes 6 of them once again)

Put all of the ingredients into your shaker and either shake it up or stir it up really good.  You always want to get these drinks as cold as you can which is accomplished by creating them inside your shaker.  Once you start shaking or stirring, it makes the shaker itself get cold where your drink is and that's what helps get your cocktail cold faster!

After all of that shaking and stirring is done, you can pour it into a glass like the one below, or 2 shorter glasses.  This is a MUST try, especially is you enjoyed Husbands Hurricane!

Here is a photo of the ingredients I used:                    Here is a photo of my end product:

Happy mixing!
